SS3

SS3 (seyDesign Super-Simple-Slider)

seyDesign Super-Simple-Slider (also commonly abbreviated to SS3) does exactly as the name suggests; in letting you quickly configure a beautifully simplistic slider with drag-and-drop ease. No complicated code, configuration or extensive feature lists. This is the perfect slider stack for the rest of us who want something really simple that works straight out of the box within a matter of seconds!

As you would expect from a modern slider, SS3 is fully mobile-first responsive and optimized for touch screens and retina displays. SS3 is tested and confirmed to work reliably on Android and iOS, plus web browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Edge, IE9, IE10, and IE11. You can setup SS3 with an unlimited number of drag-and-drop slides. SS3 will happily handle static images, styled text, HTML, Markdown and combinations of other simple stack elements. The slider automatically adjusts in height, to fit each slide. Configure SS3 in either manual or automatic modes.

Do you qualify for a FREE copy of SS3?

SS3 can be downloaded and used for free in all seyDesign and ThemeFlood branded RapidWeaver themes. Just download the free demo version using the button above, and the stack will automatically 'unlock' itself and become available for you to use, without restriction. But if you intend to use SS3 in themes from other companies, please buy a $9.95 USD license - which will entitle you to support and updates going forward.

Setup

The emphasis of SS3 is very-much on ease of use and quick setup. Please follow these instructions carefully and mouseover settings to see an informational tooltip about what each one does.

  1. Once installed into Stacks and RapidWeaver, open your Stacks library and find SS3
  2. Drag and drop a copy of SS3 into your webpage
  3. Click the blue button inside SS3 to add each slide
  4. Drag and drop additional stacks or content into each slide
  5. Select SS3 in Stacks edit mode, to access and configure any further settings (like slider speed)
  6. Preview your webpage in RapidWeaver to check the slider is working as expected. Publish or export the page when done.

Example

This is a working example of the SS3 stack. You'll also see us using SS3 in a few other places on the seyDesign website. We really like SS3 too!

Other notes

By default, SS3 will be placed wherever you put it in page. This is referred to as the 'normal page flow'. Optionally you can configure SS3 to be embedded directly into a theme ExtraContent container or FreeStyle container. If you opt to embed SS3 elsewhere in a page, you do not need to have SS3 placed inside an ExtraContent or FreeStyle stack (SS3 will instead embed itself to the desired location).

Individual slides can be deleted by selecting them in RapidWeaver edit mode and clicking the small 'x' button shown at the top corner. Likewise you can easily rearrange the order of your slides by clicking and dragging them into a revised ordering.

Additional positioning and styling can be accomplished through the use of custom CSS code or by using SS3 in combination with other stacks. The emphasis of SS3 is on simplicity and therefore we consider the feature set of SS3 to be complete. There are a great many other slideshow stacks available from various developers if you require something more feature-rich (e.g. more animation effects to choose from).

Please note that SS3 requires Stacks 3.0; due to the modern interface and API features it utilizes. SS3 will not install or work correctly with older versions of Stacks. Please carefully check what version of Stacks you are running on your computer, before downloading SS3.
